Former Australian cricketer and one of the best wicket keeper batsmen of all times, Adam Gilchrist, has made it quite clear that he is not going to play in the upcoming Big Bash League (BBL). Earlier, there were rumors that Adam Gilchrist would play for Melbourne Renegades in the upcoming Big Bash League. The BBL is going to start in December this year. The chairman of the Melbourne Renegades, James Brayshaw, said that Gili would not be able to play and this is very disappointing for them. Melbourne Renegades struggled in the previous years’ BBL.
James Brayshaw said that Gilchrist’s participation in the Big Bash League would have drawn much bigger crowd into the stadiums. As per Brayshaw, Gili is an exciting batsman and people love watching him bat. Had Gili joined the squad, the youngsters could have learnt quite a few things from him. On being asked about the reason for not participating in the BBL, Gili said that he has played enough cricket and it is the time to do some other things in life. As per Gili, he is running a forestry business in Perth and he needs to give adequate time to his business. Apart from that, he is attached with many organizations. He said that he has a lot of work to do and he is quite busy these days.
On being asked about his experience of playing in the Indian Premiere League (IPL), Gili said that he enjoyed a lot while playing in the IPL. He said that it is always nice to go to India. The Indian people are so nice and supportive. Under the captaincy of Adam Gilchrist, Deccan Chargers had won the IPL tournament in 2009. That IPL was held in South Africa. As per Gilchrist, that was a fantastic moment and he would never forget that.
